AMERICAN BLOOD by Ben Sanders

In his past life as an NYPD officer, Marshall Grade didn’t think he’d end up running. But when he blew an undercover operation with the FBI, he was given witness protection, sent to New Mexico, and told to keep a low profile. It’s good advice. The east coast mob wants him dead, and a legendary contract killer known as the Dallas Man is patiently hunting, awaiting leads on the new Marshall.

But when Marshall starts looking for a missing local woman, he finds it’s no straightforward disappearance. The local drug trade is beginning to look like the types of people Marshall has always known and before long the very worst of his prior life is compounding the trouble he has now. And the Dallas Man is closing in.
